Preparation instructions for Misir of aromatic lentils and vegetables – simple, quick and traditional.
Heating the misir : Open the jar of misir and heat the contents in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the lentils are piping hot.
Prepare the vegetables : Heat a little oil in a pan and sauté 1 diced onion, 2 carrots (cut into small pieces), and 1 handful of fresh spinach. Gently sauté the vegetables for 5-7 minutes until softened.
Mix the misir : Add the lentil base to the vegetables in the pan and stir well to combine the flavors.
Serving : Serve misir with fresh flatbread or pita bread. Serve everything from one plate and use the bread as cutlery.
